YachtShare was formed in late 1998 after a small idea turned into a serious business proposition.

YachtShare and its business model immediately struck a cord with the boating public and the company quickly added a number of boats to cope with demand.. although the start point was a 28ft Keeler of moderate age.

YachtShare today is a big part of the international boating future and this is evidenced by the growing number of companies worldwide who have turned their ideas into similar schemes to that of the original YachtShare as formed in New Zealand.

The business is New Zealand privately owned.

Our clients are a fascinating and passionate group of successful individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds.

I’ve been sailing since the age of 14 and have a background of international charter experience coupled with excellent managerial skills in the marine industry. I’m very passionate about people experiencing the joys of getting out on the water in a safe and fun environment.

What an exciting role I have here with the YachtShare team in the role of Operations Manager. Being on the water is one of my absolute favourite pastimes along with travel and spending time with family. No doubt you’ll see me around the place helping out Marcus and I look forward to meeting you all!

Boating is my life. I’ve been involved since my early years and I have been extensively involved in the NZ boating industry for decades. I take huge pride in my industry involvement and in particular the work I have done for Coastguard over the years.

I’ve spent much of my life around the sea and my career within its captivating presence. My 50 years experience on power and sailing yachts has given me exceptional knowledge and respect for the sea. Nautical roles have taken me to most places throughout the world, and have ranged from superyacht captaining to having founded and operated NZ’s leading superyacht support company in NZ.

Boating is my life. I have spent the majority of my life at sea, Spending a huge 22 years in the Royal New Zealand Navy. My love of the sea has not wained in all these years and I now spend much of my time yacht racing in New Zealand and abroad.. even the occasional Sydney Hobart & the Farr 40 World Cup.

My love of the sea really started in 1975 when I started sailing in 1975 on a Laser culminating in my first offshore passage from Falmouth to Lisbon in 1977. Wow!! that was invigorating, satisfying and just plain FUN! I'm passionately hooked.
I’ve crossed several sea’s and the odd ocean having over 25,000nm blue water experience.

My life is very much connected with the water and I’ve been sailing since the age of 8 after my father Jim built a Sabot sailing dinghy for our family.

I’m very passionate about seeing people experiencing life to the maximum and certainly YachtShare is a great way to do that.
